A couple of years ago, I had the great honor to be invited to give “The Drug Talk” to the entire student body of a local public high school during the annual “Red Ribbon Week” for raising drug and alcohol awareness. Early in my talk I started with this basic health advice: “It’s good to get high every morning!” Not surprisingly, I immediately had the undivided attention of the entire audience – including the faculty members (although I suspect for a different reason than the students).
My point, of course, was that it is an amazing feeling to experience the “natural high” that comes after a vigorous workout has caused the release of the natural endorphins in our brains. And the beauty of it all is that this kind of “high” is actually good for you.
This morning, I had to get up at 3:30AM just to get to the airport in time for an early morning flight. So I missed the opportunity to “get high” this morning. But I will do what I recommend for everyone: get back to it as soon as you can. I will be back in the gym tomorrow morning for a good swim followed by a nice workout with weights. I don’t want to do without my “morning high” for too long.
I highly recommend it for anyone who doesn’t have medical reasons why they shouldn’t. Exercise at least once a day, for a good 20 – 30 minutes, and get that natural high that feels so good and is also good for you. So few intensely pleasurable feelings in life can also promote your health and wellbeing in such a wonderfully wholesome way!
I precisely wished to appreciate you once more. I’m not certain the things that I would have gone through without those suggestions documented by you concerning that subject matter. It absolutely was an absolute terrifying situation in my view, nevertheless taking a look at this professional way you managed that took me to cry with happiness. I am just happier for this work and thus trust you really know what a powerful job that you are doing educating men and women thru your blog. I am sure you have never got to know all of us.
